A serious one in the Eastern Sierra: mount Whitney, highest point in the US (excepted Alaska); 4500m. The summit is the central pyramid in the background.
No hut here so you need to snow-camp.

Bristlescone Pine Forest. Some of these trees are over 4000 years old ! They are probably the oldest known living organisms on Earth.

The mountaineers route is less peacefull, with a 400 meters couloir at 35 - 40° (here in March 2003).
